A1 M – Giovanni Chemeri the new captain
Giovanni Chemeri is the new captain of Rari Nantes Florentia. A staunch supporter of Luca Minetti, he experienced moments of great success with him, including the title of Under 15 Italian Champion in Bari in August 2015, third place in the Under 17 category in Fiuggi and fourth place in the Under 20 in Syracuse. He made his debut in the first team in the 2017/2018 season.
Twenty-three years old last September 1, Chemeri succeeds Andrea Di Fulvio, captain of the last two seasons who recently announced his retirement from playing water polo: I am happy and proud to become captain of this historic and glorious club. Sharing this emotion and responsibility with a group of friends with whom I grew up makes everything even more special. A long and demanding season awaits us, but we have clear goals and we will give our all to achieve them. Over the years, under the guidance of Luca Minetti, our strength has been physical preparation and group unity. This year too, we will focus on these aspects to put every team in difficulty, especially when the game is played in Florence.”
