Goalkeeper of the Serbian national team in Kragujevac: Filipović on the goal of Radniki
After Strahinja Rašović, the water polo players from Radnički from Kragujevac received another big reinforcement, in the form of Radoslav Filipović, the first goalkeeper of the Serbian national team.
Filipović (27) grew up in Vojvodina, Novi Sad, and then spent three seasons in Šabac and one in New Belgrade, with whom he won the championship title and played in the Champions League final. He arrives in Radnički after one season abroad, where he defended the colors of Romanian Oradea.
– First of all, I heard that Radnički is building a good team and that ambitions are high. After a year abroad, I wanted to return to Serbia, and I always liked Radnički as a club. There were other options, but coming to Kragujevac was somehow the most beautiful story for me. The club works really well and I think I made the right choice. I know my teammates quite well, and I am also familiar with the system of coach Uroš Stevanović, which suits me extremely well and I am sure that I will fit in well – said Filipović.
In this season, the people of Kragujevac with an extremely young team, with an average age of only 22, managed to reach the finals of the domestic championship and therefore qualified for the Champions League. With a few more experienced reinforcements, they believe that they can return to the most elite European competition and engage even more seriously in the fight for trophies.
- In the upcoming season, we will go step by step. Our first goal is to qualify for the Champions League, and then to see where we are compared to the best European teams. As for the remaining competitions, it is certain that we will try to attack all three trophies and I hope that we will be competitive – concluded Filipović.
