NCAA Registration Guide
The NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) registration is a process required for high school athletes who wish to compete in college sports at NCAA-member schools. This registration is done through the NCAA Eligibility Center, which evaluates student-athletes to ensure they meet academic and amateurism standards necessary to participate in college sports.
Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to complete the NCAA registration:
1. Create an Account
Go to the NCAA Eligibility Center website (eligibilitycenter.org).
Click on "Create an Account."
You’ll need to choose between creating a Certification Account (for Division I or II) or a Profile Page (for Division III or if you're unsure about your college division).
2. Provide Personal Information
Enter your personal details including your name, gender, date of birth, and contact information. You will also need to provide your primary and secondary email addresses.
3. Complete the Registration Form
Fill out details about your education history, sports participation, and any other relevant information. You may need to enter the schools you have attended, the sports you have played, and the teams you have been a part of.
4. Pay the Registration Fee
There is a fee for creating a Certification Account ($90 for U.S. students and $150 for international students). Fee waivers are available for eligible students. If you only create a Profile Page, there is no fee, but this page will need to be upgraded later if you decide to compete at Division I or II.
5. Submit Transcripts and Test Scores
Request that your high school send your official transcript to the NCAA Eligibility Center. You also need to send your SAT or ACT scores directly from the testing agency to the NCAA Eligibility Center. Use the code 9999 to ensure they are sent to the right place.
6. Complete Amateurism Certification
You must complete the amateurism questionnaire as part of the registration process. This step verifies that you have maintained amateur status and have not received payment or played professionally.
7. Track Your Status
Log in to your NCAA Eligibility Center account to track the status of your registration and to ensure all required documents have been received and processed.
8. Stay Updated
Regularly check your account for updates and respond promptly to any requests from the NCAA Eligibility Center. Completing NCAA registration ensures that you are academically eligible and have maintained amateurism status, which are both necessary to participate in college sports.
